AUTHOR BIO:
Caroline Tuohey is a writer whose main interest is writing children’s poems and stories. She also enjoys writing bush poetry and she is enjoying the performance side of this fantastic style of writing.DESCRIPTION:
Forest Wonder is a rhyming picture book set in the Australian bush and tells the tale of creatures who enjoy a forest party on a moon-lit night. It celebrates the wonders to be found in nature but also encourages children to use their imagination and enjoy a little bit of magic.BACKGROUND:
The picture book Forest Wonder has been a self-publishing collaboration between writer and poet Caroline Tuohey and illustrator and graphic designer Muza Ulasowski. Having written a rhyming story about Australia’s wonderful array of forest animals, Caroline scoured the Illustrator’s Australia website in search of a potential collaborator. The detail and colour in Muza Ulasowski’s artwork immediately caught her eye – especially a beautiful illustrated possum. In one of those lovely serendipitous moments, just prior to Muza receiving the query email from Caroline, she had been thinking she would like to illustrate a project that featured native Australian animals. The rest, as they say, is history.
